*tap* *tap* is this thing on?

Alec Saunders reminded me of why we started the Global Crossing blogsite with his post yesterday why blog. Our reasons look very familiar to what Alec outlined, although not in the same order.

The number one reason we created this site was to enable a discussion between the Global Crossing engineers and product folks and our customers and partners.

The second reason was to demonstrate thought leadership in the industry.

I think we've done reasonably well at demonstrating some thought leadership for only having started this up two months ago, but I haven't noticed a great deal of customer or partner discussion resulting from any of the posts, despite the site getting published in customer news letters and our internal sales spotlights.

If you are a customer and appreciate the site, please post a comment here and let us know if you are enjoying the site and it's content. If you don't find the content relevant to the types of thing your business is interested in, post that too! Or, you can also send me an email. I will mail your comment to the best blogger to tackle the subject, or I will draft a guest blogger to speak to your subject. We also have the ability to recruit new bloggers from within the company, so whatever your thing is, let us know, be we want to talk about topics that interest you!

  • Easily link to terms in various wikis or other websites by typing [[prefix:term]]. Use the "|" character to create a "piped link," e.g., "[[w:public transport|public transportation]]" displays as "public transportation." For a full list of available prefixes and the websites to which they point, see interwiki.
