Wrong on BPON Video Architecture
BPON systems designed to deliver video use a secondary wavelength to carry broadcast video downstream. The only additional cost is a triplexer at the CPE. It is a trivial additional cost, and blows away the satellite scheme.
Your arguement applies to DSL, but not FTTH.
