Anonymous comments
In a rather unfortunate event, an anonymous comment that was posted earlier this week that got deleted by a site admin. I gather from my email that it pertained to the "pass the wife test" comment I made in this posting.
I would like all of our readers to know that it is not our policy to delete comments that disagree with us, and I would have liked to have allowed the comment and have been given a chance to respond to it. When we started developing our blog policy, and in particular, discussing how we would handle negative comments on the site, we all agreed that it was important to the integrity of our site that we do our best to maintain all reasonable (not spam or in violation of any laws or non disclosure) comments on the site, else our integrity as a blogging site would affected and we would be relegated to "just another corporate blogging site run by marketing group."
I apologize that we didn't follow through on that policy, and I hope that the poster understands that and feels free to re-post their comment if they feel so inclined.
I would also like to point out our policy on comment posting by unregistered (anonymous) users. If you register on the site you may post comments without them being moderated. That's right! They go straight up immediately. If you don't register, the comment goes into an approval queue that one of the site admins has to take a look at and decide if it will be allowed. You can avoid your comment getting stuck in this queue by registering, so please take the time to do so! Thanks!
