Open Source VoIP Alive and Well

Here are some really interesting statistics mined from data regarding Global Crossing’s VoIP interconnections.  For every VoIP Interconnection that we provision to our network, an interoperability procedure is followed. Part of that interoperability procedure by our dedicated interop team is to capture the make and model of VoIP gear that we are connecting with on the other side of the connection.  Below are the findings:

Percentage Open Source         24.80%
Percentage Proprietary            73.57%

Percentage SBCs                        32%
Percentage Direct to/fro Proxys     53%
Percentage Direct to/fro GWs        16%

Use the "|" character to create a "piped link," e.g., "[[w:public transport|public transportation]]" displays as "public transportation." For a full list of available prefixes and the websites to which they point, see interwiki.
